Tenant remanded for raping landlord’s daughter

An Iyaganku Family Court in Ibadan ordered the remand of a tenant, Kareem Mojeed, at the Agodi Correctional Facility for allegedly defiling his landlord’s seven-year-old daughter.

The Chief Magistrate, Olabisi Ogunkanmi, directed that the case file be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP, for further advice.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Gbemisola Adedeji, told the court that Mojeed allegedly committed the offence on July 21 at 5.00p.m. at Ebedi area of Ibadan.

Adedeji alleged that the tenant, Mojeed lured the girl into his room and thereafter defiled the innocent girl.

The offence, according to the police, contravenes the provisions of Section 34 of the Oyo State Child’s Rights Law, 2006.
