JAMB announces postponement of 2025 UTME registration

The 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has been postponed to Monday, February 3.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disclosed this on Thursday.

Initially set to begin on Friday, January 31, the delay was necessary to accommodate key adjustments in the registration process.

JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, announced the decision via the Board’s official X handle on Friday.

He explained that the changes were prompted by the recent suspension of certain law programs at select universities, as communicated by the Council for Legal Education.

Additionally, JAMB uncovered irregularities in the approval of some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, where deceptive practices were used to gain accreditation.

As a result, further verification and corrections are required.

The Board apologized for any inconvenience caused and assured candidates that the extra time would help streamline the registration process for a smoother experience.
