Acting on intelligence, officers from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) raided a residence in the Kuwait area of Birnin Kebbi on January 31, 2025, detaining 165 individuals.

Investigations revealed that the suspects were nationals of several Francophone countries, including Ivory Coast (110), Burkina Faso (35), Benin Republic (11), Niger Republic (5), and Mali (4).

Following preliminary inquiries, the detainees were handed over to the Nigeria Immigration Service in Kebbi State for further investigation and legal proceedings.
