Tinubu assents to North Central Development Commission, Federal College of Agricultural Technology Opialu-Ojapo Bills

Nigeria President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has on Wednesday assented to North Central Development Commission (NCDC) and the Federal College of Agricultural Technology, Opialu-Ojapo establishment bills.

The NCDC bill, sponsored by Senator Abba Moro, aims to catalyze development in the North-Central region, addressing infrastructural gaps and tackling poverty, illiteracy, and environmental challenges. The commission will receive and manage funds for resettlement, rehabilitation, and reconstruction efforts in the region.

The Federal College of Agricultural Technology, Opialu-Ojapo bill, also sponsored by Senator Moro, will establish an institution focused on agricultural technology, furthering the country’s agricultural development.

Both bills were passed into law by the senate in July 2024 and have now been assented to by President Tinubu, paving the way for the establishment of the commission and the institution.
