Three individuals—Adedigba Adewale, Ashibogu Magnus, and Iwonze Benjamin—were taken into custody on Wednesday at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos following a disturbance during an Air Peace flight from London to Lagos.
The incident reportedly began when Adewale and Magnus, who had economy-class tickets, attempted to occupy business-class seats. When flight attendants intervened, the pair refused to cooperate and forced their way into the restricted section.
Their behavior escalated as they allegedly made threats and consumed alcohol they had brought on board without authorization, causing unease among other passengers.
The flight crew promptly alerted security agencies in Nigeria, ensuring that law enforcement officers were on standby when the aircraft landed.
The suspects were immediately arrested for further questioning.
Air Peace reaffirmed its commitment to passenger safety and strongly condemned disruptive conduct.
The airline also commended its crew for handling the situation professionally.
Attempts to reach the Director of Aviation Security, Igbafe Afegbai, for comments were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
