Shehu Sani, other political figures join APC in Kaduna

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has officially received Senator Shehu Sani and 49 other prominent politicians into the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a mega rally held at Murtala Square on Saturday.

Addressing a large gathering of APC supporters, Governor Sani assured the new members that they would have the same rights and opportunities as long-standing party members.

He stated, “Anyone joining APC today holds the same status as those who have been members for the past ten years. They will enjoy equal rights and privileges.”

Encouraging the defectors to mobilize their supporters, he emphasized that APC remains open to welcoming more members into its fold.

The governor credited APC’s growing popularity to its commitment to fair leadership at both state and national levels. He expressed optimism about the party’s chances in the 2027 elections.

“In 2027, voters will support APC across all levels. Our leader, President Bola Tinubu, will be re-elected, and at the state level, we will secure victories in the gubernatorial, National Assembly, and State Assembly elections, by God’s grace,” he declared.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to implementing development projects across Kaduna State, regardless of political, ethnic, or religious backgrounds.

“Governance is distinct from politics. We will remain fair to all, whether they supported us or not, because that is the responsibility we pledged to uphold as leaders,” he added.

Acknowledging that no leader is without flaws, Governor Sani urged the public to offer constructive criticism when necessary. He also reminded APC members that leadership comes with accountability, both in this world and beyond.

Among the high-profile figures who joined APC were former Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Muktar Ramalan-Yero; Senator Shehu Sani; Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi; Alhaji Sani Sha’aban, a former gubernatorial candidate and 2023 NNPP flagbearer; Senator Danjuma Laah, a former PDP senator representing Kaduna South; Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha, a former National Organizing Secretary of PDP; and Ambassador Sule Buba, Nigeria’s former envoy to South Korea.
