WhatsApp group admin killed after removing member

A tragic incident in Pakistan has led to the death of a WhatsApp group administrator after he removed a member from the chat, police confirmed on Saturday.

The victim, identified as Mushtaq Ahmed, was fatally shot on Thursday evening in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, a region known for sectarian tensions and security challenges.

According to police reports, a suspect named Ashfaq has been charged in connection with the murder.

The attack was reportedly triggered by a dispute between the two, which escalated after Mushtaq removed Ashfaq from the group.

In an attempt to settle their differences, they arranged a meeting. However, Ashfaq allegedly arrived armed and shot Mushtaq, according to a report filed by the victim’s brother.

Authorities have described the attack as an act of rage over the removal from the group.

The case highlights ongoing concerns in the region, where easy access to firearms, deep-rooted tribal traditions, and weak law enforcement often contribute to violent disputes.
