Former President Muhammadu Buhari has reaffirmed his commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC), emphasizing that he remains a loyal member and wants to be recognized as such.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, on March 13, Buhari stated that he would never abandon the party that facilitated his two-term presidency. He expressed his dedication to strengthening and promoting the APC.I am an APC member, and I like to be addressed as such. I will try to popularize the party by all means,” Buhari was quoted as saying.
The former president also expressed gratitude for the support he received from the party during his tenure, describing it as the highest honour.
He stressed that he has no further personal demands but remains committed to the party’s success.
Buhari further acknowledged the efforts of the APC’s founding members in building a strong political platform to uphold democracy and the constitution, urging party members to protect and nurture these ideals.
