South African Presidency reacts to ambassador Rasool’s expulsion by U.S.

The South African Presidency has expressed regret over the expulsion of the country’s Ambassador to the United States, Ebrahim Rasool, urging diplomatic restraint in handling the situation.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Presidency acknowledged the development and called on all involved parties to adhere to established diplomatic norms.

“The Presidency urges all relevant and impacted stakeholders to maintain the established diplomatic decorum in their engagement with the matter,” the statement read.

Despite the setback, the government reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a strong and mutually beneficial relationship with the United States.

The statement was released by Vincent Magwenya, spokesperson to the President, who encouraged a measured approach to the matter.
