EFCC nabs 21 suspected cybercriminals in Bauchi

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 21 individuals in Bauchi State over alleged involvement in internet fraud.

The operation, led by the agency’s Gombe Zonal Directorate, took place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, following credible intelligence linking the suspects to cybercrime activities.

In a statement shared on Monday via X, the EFCC confirmed that the arrests occurred at Kaure New Government Reservation Area (GRA) and Awala, along Maiduguri Road in Bauchi.

During the raid, officials confiscated several high-value items, including a BMW and a Toyota Camry.

Other seized belongings included three PlayStation 5 consoles, 30 expensive mobile phones, a flat-screen television, six Point of Sale (POS) machines, four iPads, and five laptops.

The EFCC stated that investigations were ongoing and that the suspects would be prosecuted upon completion of the inquiry.
