Alongside the seaport project, Dangote Cement is investing in two additional cement production lines in Ogun State, with a combined capacity of 6 million metric tons per year.
The new plants, located in Itori, will complement the existing 12 million metric ton facility in Ibeshe, bringing Ogun State’s total cement production to 18 million metric tons annually.
“Our factory at Itori was destroyed twice. After the second demolition, even the fence was pulled down, so we left. But now, because of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s leadership, we are back,” Dangote stated.
Governor Abiodun described the expansion as a game-changer, positioning Ogun as the largest cement producer in sub-Saharan Africa.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the Itori cement plant construction site and inspected the Papalanto concrete-paved road, currently being built under the federal tax credit scheme.
Traditional rulers, including the Olu of Itori, Oba Abdulfatai Akorede Akamo, were also present to witness the landmark developments.
