Miyetti Allah chairman killed in Plateau

Gunmen on Wednesday night assassinated Muhammad Adamu, the Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The attack took place at his residence shortly after he had finished breaking his fast.

The Plateau State chairman of MACBAN, Ibrahim Yusuf Babayo, confirmed the incident, condemning the killing and calling on security agencies to investigate the attack and bring those responsible to justice.

A local youth leader, Alhaji Danjuma Ibrahim, also verified the killing, stating that Adamu’s body was taken to Barkin Ladi General Hospital and is set for burial on Thursday.

According to Danjuma, this was the third time Adamu had been targeted by gunmen, but he had previously survived their attempts. “They shot him multiple times and then fled.

“His body bore several gunshot wounds. Security forces, including the police and army, responded quickly, and we accompanied them when he was taken to the hospital,” he explained.

Describing the incident as a tragic loss, Danjuma noted that Adamu played a vital role in promoting peace in Barkin Ladi.

“His efforts in maintaining stability in the community will not be forgotten,” he said.

Meanwhile, Plateau State Police spokesperson DSP Alabo Alfred has yet to respond to inquiries regarding the attack.
