BREAKING: FG vows to clear NYSC members’ N77,000 allowance backlog

Months after announcing an increase in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) allowance, the Federal Government has assured corps members that the outstanding payments will be settled.

Despite raising the monthly stipend from ₦33,000 to ₦77,000 in September 2024, the government has yet to implement the new rate, leaving corps members waiting for the promised increase.

However, officials have confirmed that all eligible corps members, including those in service when the adjustment was announced, will receive backdated payments.

Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande gave this assurance during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today. However, he did not provide a specific timeline for the payment.
