Dr. Olajide Adediran, widely recognized as Jandor, a former Lagos State governorship candidate under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has deepened his involvement in the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his defection.
As part of his growing political alignment with the ruling party, he recently met with Chief Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the daughter of President Bola Tinubu, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The meeting, which took place on Monday in the holy city, provided both politicians an opportunity to engage in discussions of mutual interest and exchange greetings.
Confirming the development, Jandor’s media aide, Gbenga Ogunleye, described the engagement as significant.
He stated that Jandor appreciated the warm reception and offered prayers for the success of President Tinubu’s governance agenda.
Ogunleye further emphasized that the conversation highlighted a shared commitment to fostering unity and progress.
Jandor had contested the 2023 Lagos gubernatorial election under the PDP but was defeated by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC.
However, he recently left the PDP, citing issues such as internal strife, a lack of discipline, and disloyalty within the party’s Lagos chapter.
His defection to the APC represents a major shift in his political trajectory, aligning him with the very party he once opposed.
His interaction with Tinubu-Ojo in Mecca suggests he is actively solidifying his place within the APC.
This development further indicates his increasing acceptance in the party and signals potential influence within its Lagos structure.
As Jandor continues to integrate into the APC, his political future within the ruling party remains one to watch.
