It’s time to come down hard on her – Nwaebonyi slams Senator Natasha over allegations

Deputy Senate Chief Whip Onyekachi Nwaebonyi has criticized Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the suspended senator representing Kogi Central, over her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, suggesting she has a pattern of making false accusations.

In an interview with News Central TV on Wednesday, Nwaebonyi dismissed the senator’s claim, stating that she had previously accused Reno Omokri of harassment during the Goodluck Jonathan administration, despite Omokri being out of the country at the time.

“She has a tendency to bring up harassment allegations whenever she faces opposition,” Nwaebonyi said.

“And honestly, I don’t understand what’s wrong with this woman. Does she think she’s the most beautiful lady in the country? In my view, she’s not even among Nigeria’s most attractive women.”

Nwaebonyi further argued that Akpoti-Uduaghan’s accusations were not just an attack on Akpabio but a potential threat to others in the future.

“We need to put a stop to this. My stance is not just to defend the Senate President but to protect others who might become her future targets.”

Akpoti-Uduaghan’s allegation followed a dispute in the Senate over seating arrangements. Shortly after, she was suspended for six months for alleged misconduct.

In the aftermath, some of her Kogi Central constituents began a recall process, accusing her of deceit and abuse of office.

The senator has rejected the allegations, stating that they are part of a deliberate effort to suppress her voice.
