Former senator and media entrepreneur Ben Murray-Bruce has responded to ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s claim that Senate President Godswill Akpabio is corrupt.
Atiku, in a recent interview with Arise News, accused Akpabio of corruption dating back to his tenure as Akwa Ibom State governor.
He made the statement while criticizing the National Assembly’s endorsement of President Bola Tinubu’s emergency declaration in Rivers State, attributing the decision to Akpabio’s leadership.
Reacting via Facebook, Murray-Bruce dismissed the allegation, stating that Akpabio had been thoroughly investigated by independent agencies and found innocent.
He described the Senate President as a man of integrity and a crucial figure in Nigeria’s political stability.
Murray-Bruce emphasized the need for national unity and urged caution in making statements that could undermine democratic institutions.
He reaffirmed his support for Akpabio, insisting that hearsay and insinuations should not overshadow verified facts.
