The recent approval of two federal institutions in Southern Kaduna has sparked appreciation and political pledges from youth groups in the region.
The Coalition of Southern Kaduna Youth Groups has commended President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Governor Uba Sani, and Senator Sunday Marshall Katung for their roles in securing the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia and a Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan.
Speaking at a press conference in Kaduna on Friday, coalition leader Luke Duniya described the establishment of these institutions as a long-awaited breakthrough for the region.
He noted that the projects would not only boost access to quality education and healthcare but also generate employment and improve overall economic prospects.
“In recognition of these efforts, we are committed to mobilizing votes for Tinubu, Sani, and Katung in the upcoming 2027 elections,” Duniya declared.
The Federal University of Applied Sciences is scheduled to begin operations in September 2025, as confirmed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Olatunji Alausa.
Meanwhile, discussions regarding the medical centre’s operational framework are still underway.
Duniya also lauded Senator Katung for his leadership, highlighting his contributions to education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and agricultural initiatives.
The coalition further reaffirmed its confidence in his ability to bring more positive developments to Southern Kaduna.
