Southampton’s new recruit, Victor Udoh trains with first team ahead of Crystal Palace clash

Southampton’s winter signing, Victor Udoh, has been training with the first team as they prepare to face Crystal Palace at St Mary’s Stadium on April 2. The former Nigeria U17 forward joined the Saints from Royal Antwerp in Belgium and has been impressing with the development squad.

Udoh, who was born on October 18, 2004, meets the eligibility criteria to represent Southampton in the Premier League and has been listed on the roster as an U21 player. He has been training with Nigerian duo Lesley Ugochukwu and Paul Onuachu, and caught the attention of head coach Ivan Juric during a training session at Staplewood Campus.

Although Udoh has yet to receive a call-up for a first-team game since his arrival, his outstanding displays for the development squad have earned him an invite to train with the first team. He made a strong impression on his home debut in the Premier League 2, scoring a brace in a 3-3 draw against Sunderland.

With 24 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League during his time with Royal Antwerp, Udoh brings top-flight experience to the table. Describing himself as a direct player who likes to win games, Udoh is hopeful of achieving great things with Southampton.
