In fulfillment of a promise made during the last convocation ceremony, doctorate awardees, Senator Gabriel Suswam and Chief Dr. Paul Edeh have commissioned a solar power generation system at the Benue State University (BSU) administrative complex.
The project, executed in collaboration between the two philanthropists, was inaugurated on Friday in the presence of Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, the University authorities and other dignitaries.
The newly commissioned solar system will provide stable electricity to key administrative offices, including those of the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, and other staff.
Expressing his gratitude, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joe Tor Iorapuu, commended Senator Suswam and Dr. Edeh for their unwavering support, describing their contribution as a testament to their deep commitment to the institution.
He noted that BSU made the right decision in awarding them honorary Doctor of Law degrees.
Governor Alia, on his part, also lauded their efforts, emphasizing that while his administration is committed to improving educational infrastructure, partnerships with individuals and non-governmental organizations remain crucial in achieving lasting progress.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including the Deputy Governor of Benue State, Barr. Sam Odeh, former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Prof. Nicholas Ada, and other distinguished guests.
