Gov Makinde appoints Olakuleyin as new Olubadan

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has appointed Oba Owolabi Olakuleyin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, an official announced in Ibadan on Wednesday.

According to a statement by the state’s Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Olusegun Olayiwola, Governor Makinde granted approval for the appointment through a memo signed on Friday.

“This decision was made in accordance with the powers vested in him by Section 19 (Cap 28) Law of Oyo State 2000 as amended,” Olayiwola stated.

He further explained that the appointment followed the prescribed processes outlined in the state’s laws concerning ascension to royal thrones.

The commissioner conveyed the governor’s congratulations to the new Olubadan and expressed hopes that his tenure would foster significant development in Ibadanland and across Oyo State.
