Obaseki tasks Edo CP to arrest UNIBEN graduate’s killers within 7 days

The Edo state government has initiated an investigation into the rape and murder of a recent University of Benin (UNIBEN) graduate, Adekolore Idowu Glory, aged 22.

The State Commissioner for Communication, Chris Nehikhare, disclosed the Governor’s directives on Thursday in Benin City.

A report by Beli Media said Glory was brutally assaulted and raped to death on June 13 in Iyowa Community, Benin City, as she returned home from UNIBEN. She had just graduated in April and was in the process of clearing when the tragic incident occurred near her residence.

Expressing shock and sorrow over the incident, Chris Nehikhare, Edo state’s communications commissioner, stated that Governor Godwin Obaseki has instructed the Commissioner of Police, Funso Adegboye, to identify and apprehend Glory’s assailants within the next one week.
