TCN suspends planned two-month power outage in Ondo, Ekiti

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has decided to suspend the planned two-month power outage on the Osogbo/Akure and Ado-Ekiti 132KV transmission lines.

This decision, which was originally communicated by BEDC Electricity Plc, has been confirmed by Evelyn Gbiwen, the Head of Branding and Corporate Communications at BEDC.

In a statement released on Tuesday in Benin, Gbiwen announced that TCN has indefinitely postponed the scheduled outage until further notice.

She reassured customers that BEDC’s services will continue without interruption during this period.

Previously, BEDC had informed its customers in Ondo and Ekiti states about TCN’s planned maintenance work on the 132KV Osogbo-Akure transmission line, which was initially set to commence from July 1 to August 31.

The maintenance activities were intended to include the installation of optical ground wire and other necessary tasks requiring a power outage to ensure a safe working environment.
