Benue ex-Gov, Ortom donates Secretariat to State PDP

Following the closure of the Benue State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Secretariat in Makurdi by a former governor of the state who is the owner of the property, leader of the PDP in Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom has donated a new Secretariat to the party in Makurdi.

Members of the PDP Caretaker committee in Benue State were on Monday, locked out of the secretariat without any prior notice.

According to the security men stationed at the secretariat, they were “acting on instructions from the owner of the property” whom they said, had directed that the Secretariat be locked up indefinitely.

In a reaction, leader of the PDP in Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom who expressed dismay over the closure of the PDP Secretariat, described the action as unfortunate.

He immediately donated the former head office of Oracle Business Limited, located at High Level Makurdi to the PDP Caretaker Committee members as the new Secretariat of the party.

He pledged continued support to the Caretaker Committee members to enable them succeed in repositioning the PDP in Benue State.

National Chairmanship aspirant, Engr. Conrad Terhide Utaan, some members of the immediate past state Exco members and caretaker committee members, later inspected the new PDP Secretariat.
