A horrific incident occurred in Calabar, Cross River state, on Sunday, February 2, 2025, when a young man allegedly murdered his friend after fraudulently withdrawing N2 million from the victim’s bank account.
According to journalist Agba Jalingo, the deceased had discovered the unauthorized transaction and confronted the suspect.
The suspect then lured the victim to his house, where he killed and dismembered him, hiding the body parts in a sack.
The suspect is currently at large, while his stepmother has been arrested and detained at the State CID for allegedly being present during the murder and providing false information to the police. The victim’s body has yet to be identified.
