Ex-President Obasanjo’s former ADC, Jemitola passes away after collapsing at Abuja golf club

Retired Major General Chris Jemitola, a former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, has died.

Jemitola reportedly collapsed at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja on Thursday morning.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival. The cause of his sudden collapse remains undisclosed.

A seasoned military officer, Jemitola served kas Obasanjo’s ADC from 2003 to 2007 when he was a colonel.

He later rose through the ranks, becoming the Director of Defence Information and subsequently the Defence Attaché at the Nigerian Embassy in Brazil.

Before his retirement, he held the strategic position of Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP) in the Nigerian Army, where he played a key role in shaping military operations. In 2019, he transitioned to the private sector, serving as a Senior Advisor for Military Communications at Pinnacle Communications Limited.

His passing has left a void in military and defense circles, with colleagues and associates mourning his loss. Tributes have been pouring in, recognizing his dedication and contributions to national security.

As of now, his family has not released an official statement regarding funeral arrangements.
