Pastor Adeboye seeks for release of TikToker detained for criticizing him

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Worldwide, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called for the release of popular TikToker Olumide Ogunsanwo, known as SeaKing, who was arrested after making critical remarks about him on social media.

Adeboye distanced himself from the arrest, clarifying that he had no role in the detention of the social media personality.

The controversy began in December 2024, when SeaKing posted a video on TikTok condemning Adeboye’s directive for a 100-day fast, describing it as “stupid.”

His comments sparked outrage among some Christians, leading the Concerned Christian Youth Forum to petition the Lagos State Police Command, which ultimately resulted in his arrest.

Reacting to the incident in a widely circulated video, Adeboye explained that his fasting directive was meant only for members of RCCG and not for the general public. Expressing surprise at the entire situation, he urged the authorities to release SeaKing, saying, “Release him. He is fulfilling prophecy.”
