Rose Idibia, mother of popular singer Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, has publicly pleaded with Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru, to stay away from her son.
In a viral video on Thursday evening, Mrs. Idibia expressed her concerns, stating that 2Baba is not in the right state of mind due to his ongoing divorce from his estranged wife, Annie Idibia.
“My name is Mrs. Rose Idibia, the mother of 2Baba. I am appealing to all Nigerian mothers to help me beg Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State to let my son be,” she said.
She further alleged that the lawmaker had placed spiritual items on her son, saying, “Please, Natasha, remove the beads you put on his hand and neck. Let him go.”
Her statement follows a viral video showing the moment 2Baba proposed to Osawaru while they danced together in the presence of their friends. The singer presented her with a ring before they embraced.
This development comes shortly after 2Baba confirmed his romantic relationship with Osawaru, setting social media abuzz. Speculation had been mounting after the singer was spotted at the Edo State House of Assembly, followed by a video of him and Osawaru at a Lagos club.
Addressing the controversy, 2Baba took to Instagram on Tuesday to set the record straight.
“I have seen many false narratives and malicious stories about my post. Hon. Natasha Osawaru has been called names and labeled a home wrecker. She had nothing to do with what happened between me and Annie,” he said.
He added, “Yes, I love her. She is an amazing woman, and I want to marry her.”
Natasha Osawaru is a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, representing Egor Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). She was elected in April 2023 and hails from Egor Local Government Area of Edo State.
