The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has cautioned the public against fraudulent recruitment advertisements, emphasizing that no official recruitment exercise is currently ongoing.
In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, the NIS Spokesman, Akinsola Akinlabi, clarified that all legitimate recruitment processes are conducted in a transparent, free, and merit-based manner.
He reiterated that official job vacancies are only advertised through the NIS website, government-approved channels, and recognized national newspapers.
“The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap, has been alerted to the alarming rise in fake recruitment activities by fraudsters,” Akinlabi stated.
He reassured the public that no recruitment is currently taking place, and the NIS is working with relevant authorities to track down and prosecute those responsible for these scams.
“The NIS remains committed to upholding integrity in all its operations and has urged Nigerians to stay vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudulent recruitment schemes”, the CG stated.
