The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, has directed the deployment of security personnel and enforcement of strict measures ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Aiyedatiwa is scheduled to take the oath of office on Monday, and authorities have taken steps to ensure the safety of attendees and the smooth conduct of the event.
This was announced in a statement released on Sunday in Akure by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Funmilayo Odunlami.
According to Afolabi, the security arrangements include restrictions on armed escorts accompanying Very Important Persons (VIPs), stating that they will not be allowed to enter the venue with rifles but will be stationed at designated points nearby.
He also urged commuters to consider alternative routes to ease traffic congestion and advised vehicle owners to park in secure locations away from the stadium to prevent obstruction or damage.
“All security agencies will be on the ground to ensure compliance with these guidelines,” the commissioner stated, calling on residents to adhere to the measures for a safe and well-organized event.
