The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the urgent deployment of the Intelligence Response Team to secure the release of Afenifere Youth Leader, Prince Eniola Ojajuni, who was abducted on February 17, 2025, while traveling to Abuja.
In a statement on Wednesday, Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, reaffirmed the police’s commitment to rescuing Ojajuni, assuring that all available resources are being utilized to ensure his safe return.
The IGP also praised the swift response of officers handling the case and emphasized that his rescue remains a top priority.
Adejobi called on the public to refrain from spreading unverified information about the incident, warning that speculation could hinder ongoing efforts and pose risks to the victim.
He assured Nigerians that the police remain steadfast in tackling criminal activities and enhancing national security.
The statement also highlighted recent police operations, including a raid on a criminal hideout in Taraba State, where 20 suspects were apprehended, and weapons recovered.
In Oyo State, security personnel successfully rescued three kidnap victims from the palace of Baale Tajudeen Inaolaji and arrested one suspect linked to the crime.
