Nigerian Army doubles soldiers’ feeding allowance

SoldiersThe Nigerian Army is set to increase the daily feeding allowance for its personnel from N1,500 to N3,000, effective next month.

This announcement was made by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, during an address in Lagos.

As part of broader efforts to enhance soldiers’ welfare, Oluyede also introduced a low-interest loan scheme, offering troops access to financial support at a 3% interest rate.

Additionally, he unveiled an affordable housing initiative, with homes available from N8 million, aimed at improving accommodation options for military personnel.

To tackle the persistent shortage of uniforms, the army will commence the distribution of 100,000 uniforms each month.

This measure is expected to ensure that all soldiers are adequately equipped for their duties.

Reaffirming his commitment to the well-being of troops, Oluyede emphasized that these initiatives are designed to enhance the quality of life for personnel and boost morale within the force.

The Nigerian Army leadership continues to prioritize policies that address the needs of its officers and soldiers, reinforcing its dedication to improving their working and living conditions.
