Group seeks sanctions for PDP members engaging in anti-party activities

The Conference of Professionals in the Peoples Democratic Party (CP-PDP) has urged the party’s leadership to take decisive action against members involved in activities that undermine the party.

Obinna Nwachukwu, the national coordinator of CP-PDP, made this appeal in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

He emphasized the need for swift measures to prevent internal discord from weakening the party.

He called on the PDP’s national disciplinary committee to expedite action on pending petitions, stressing that delays in enforcing sanctions encourage further anti-party behavior.

He cited Articles 57, 58, and 59 of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), which provide for disciplinary action against members engaging in subversive acts.

Nwachukwu warned that unchecked misconduct, including damaging litigations and divisive statements, could destabilize the party and diminish its electoral prospects.

He urged the leadership to act against individuals whose actions contradict the PDP’s core values and vision for a better Nigeria.

He also praised PDP governors for their commitment to the party during this critical period. Reassuring members and supporters, he affirmed that the PDP remains united and strong, expressing confidence that the party will emerge from its current challenges even stronger.
