Farm estate owner, manager abducted in Ondo

A farm estate owner, Olanrewaju Oyeleye, 50, and his farm manager were reportedly abducted on Friday morning at their farmland in Oba-Ile, located along the Akure Airport Road in Ondo State.

Sources close to the victims revealed to The Hope Newspaper that the kidnappers contacted Oyeleye’s family on Saturday, demanding a ransom of N100 million for their release.

Oyeleye, who had returned to Nigeria four years ago after spending several years abroad to invest in mechanized farming, is believed to have been specifically targeted by the abductors.

Confirming the incident, the Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun), Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, said security personnel are actively working to locate the kidnappers and rescue the victims.

“The abduction occurred early Thursday morning, and we have been making efforts to track the kidnappers’ location and ensure the safe return of the victims,” he stated.
