JUST IN: Fubara extends invitation to 27 pro-Wike lawmakers amid political tensions

The political landscape in Rivers State took a fresh twist on Sunday as Governor Siminalayi Fubara reached out to the faction of the House of Assembly led by Speaker Martin Amaewhule, inviting them for a crucial meeting.

This development was confirmed in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, and made available to journalists in Port Harcourt.

According to the letter, the meeting, scheduled for Monday, March 10, 2025, follows the governor’s receipt of the Certified True Copy of the Supreme Court judgment.

The agenda includes discussions on securing a proper venue for legislative sittings, settling outstanding entitlements of lawmakers, and addressing the 2025 budget, along with other pressing state matters.

Danagogo reiterated that the meeting aligns with the governor’s earlier commitment, as expressed in a letter dated March 5, 2025.

He urged all members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to attend, emphasizing the importance of unity in resolving the ongoing political crisis.

The meeting is set to take place at 10 a.m. at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

The letter concluded with an appeal for cooperation, stressing the need to prioritize the interests of the people of Rivers State.
