Gas tanker explosion at Otedola bridge claims one life, others injured

A gas tanker explosion at Otedola Bridge in Lagos has left one person dead and four others injured, with 14 vehicles destroyed in the incident.

The Lagos coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the explosion, stating that it occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday night.

He explained that the blast affected a storey building and four shops, causing extensive damage to the area.

The incident happened when a fully loaded gas tanker overturned while attempting to enter the expressway from Otedola Estate Road.

Emergency teams have since been deployed to the scene to manage the aftermath.
