BREAKING: Tribunal upholds Diri’s re-election as Bayelsa Gov

The Election Petition Tribunal has affirmed the re-election of Senator Douye Diri as duly elected governor of Bayelsa State.

The tribunal sitting in Abuja on Monday dismissed the petition filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timipre Sylva and his party for lacking merit.

The three-man pane led by Justice Adekunle Adeleye unanimously affirmed that the petitioners failed to present credible evidence to support their allegations against Diri’s victory.

Justice Adeleye, who read the judgement of the panel declared that, “The petitioners failed to prove any credible evidence to back up any of the allegations they raised against the re-election victory of Diri.”
