Ondo police dismisses allegations of theft by officers

The Ondo State Police Command has refuted claims that its officers, sent on a special intervention mission to Idogun, were involved in a theft incident at a mobile phone shop.

In a statement issued on March 22, 2025, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Funmilayo Odunlami, described the allegations as baseless and misleading.

She stated that an inquiry involving traditional rulers, community leaders, and officers stationed in the area confirmed that there is no mobile phone shop in Idogun, making the accusations unfounded.

The command urged individuals with genuine complaints to follow proper procedures by submitting a formal petition to the Commissioner of Police’s office, along with relevant evidence, for a comprehensive investigation.

Emphasizing its commitment to fairness and public confidence, the command also provided official contact details for any further inquiries.
