Police operatives in Plateau State have taken a suspected kidnapper into custody and recovered ammunition during a raid in Kabwir Community hotel, Kanke Local Government Area.
According to the state police command, the arrest was made after intelligence was received at about 10:40 p.m. on March 25, 2025, indicating that a suspicious individual was lodged in a hotel in the area.
Acting on this information, a team led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Kanke swiftly moved in and arrested 25-year-old Auwal Haruna, who hails from Kaduna State.
A search of the suspect’s belongings led to the discovery of 51 rounds of 7.62x51mm ammunition, 14 rounds of 7.62x39mm ammunition, an AA cartridge, an empty AK-47 magazine, and various charms.
The police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing, with efforts underway to track down other members of the suspected criminal network.
