The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has recorded its highest-ever registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with 2,030,627 candidates signing up for the 2025 edition.
In its weekly bulletin released on Monday, JAMB confirmed that registration officially ended on March 8. This figure surpasses the over 1.9 million candidates who registered in 2024, excluding those taking the exam at international centers.
Furthermore, 200,115 candidates have indicated interest in participating in the optional mock UTME, which is set to take place on April 5, 2025.
JAMB also introduced new security measures to prevent exam malpractice and enhance the integrity of the process. These efforts have already led to several arrests of individuals attempting to use fake A-level credentials for admission.
The board has advised all candidates to strictly follow examination rules and avoid any form of misconduct.
